The Benefits of Wool Blend Fabric

A wool blend means that wool has been mixed with one or more other fibres. That can be another type of wool, such as lambswool, worsted wool, merino wool, angora wool or cashmere, but equally cotton, nylon or linen. The label always shows the proportions, and those proportions largely determine how the garment feels and wears.

Properties of a wool blend

You'll mostly come across a wool blend in sweaters, blazers, cardigans and scarves. Combining materials gives you a stronger fabric that loses its shape less easily. It also solves the itchiness of regular wool: a share of merino or angora wool makes the whole thing softer on the skin. When washing, do watch the temperature, because a wool blend can shrink if you wash it too hot. So always follow the care instructions on the label.
